Annie Zimmerman
Family Support Specialist
My name is Annie, and I consider myself to be in recovery from substance use, people-pleasing, and perfectionism. I love to laugh, and I’ve never met a pun that I didn’t like. I believe that wisdom can be found in the words of children’s books. As an Angeleno, I love the Colorado seasons but I miss the smell of the ocean. I am inspired by the courage that it takes to embrace authenticity and vulnerability, and believe that these qualities foster genuine connection in every aspect of our lives.
“Every adventure requires a first step.”
“There is a voice inside of you
That whispers all day long,
“I feel that this is right for me,
I know that this is wrong.”
No teacher, preacher, parent, friend
Or wise man can decide
What’s right for you—just listen to
The voice that speaks inside.”
“Underneath my outside face
There’s a face that none can see.
A little less smiley,
A little less sure,
But a whole lot more like me.”
