Advocates for Recovery – Denver Westwood Office
5110 Morrison Rd, Denver, CO 80219
(Peer Support Professionals Only)

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, and expanding on Latin American community and culture (following Dia de los Muertos on November 1st and 2nd), PSP BRANCH invites Peer Support Professionals only to join an afternoon of storytelling, reflection, and connection with Native and Latinx peer voices who walk the path of recovery, advocacy, and ancestral renewal.

Through the theme “What does professional peer support mean through the lens of your community?”, our panelists will share lived experiences rooted in identity, land, and resilience. This panel is a gathering to honor the healing power of culture, belonging, and shared struggle.

Panelists include:

  • Rhyia Lopez, Northern Arapaho, Eastern Shoshone, Flathead Nations: Peer Navigator, Denver Indian Health & Famil Services, Inc.

  • Danette Martinez: Peer Recovery Coach & Event Assistant, uplifting Mapleton public schools through volunteer work, working as a substitute teacher, community connector and event planner.

  • Tyler Tallbull, Northern Cheyenne: Youth Program Support Specialist

Together, they’ll explore how traditions, family lines, and collective history shape their Peer Support Specialist way in supporting and standing beside others in healing and recovery.

What to Expect:

  • Community grounding & reflection

  • 3 Native/Latinx peer perspectives in dialogue

  • Space for connection, story, and cultural renewal

  • Light refreshments & community networking
